Strawberry Sky is a concept that stems from a truly happy childhood on a strawberry farm in Kent, the "Garden County" of England. My wonderful parents were amongst some of the most renowned strawberry growers in the area, regularly supplying Wimbledon. Dad was even interviewed on local radio once as "The King of Strawberries".
As I grew up, I moved away from the world of growing - University beckoned, I fell in love, travelled the world with Jason and on our travels we got our first taste of New Zealand before returning to England and marrying. Five years later and it was time to fulfil our dreams of a life in New Zealand, a place we both fell in love with years before.
Long before leaving England, I became enticed by the strong cake culture that had inspired the UK and I realised that a career in this field would allow my artistic flair to grow. I dedicated a year to achieving a Professional Masters Diploma in Cake Decoration and my enjoyment for cake baking and decorating developed into a real passion.
As I perfected my skills, commissions were received by friends and family who admired and respected my work. Suddenly a cake business was born that I could bring to New Zealand and I am delighted to operate Strawberry Sky in Pukekohe. Jason and I both love this area - the stunning farmland views, we both agree, are very reminiscent of the Kentish countryside where we grew up.
At Strawberry Sky we hope to emulate all of the professional business traits passed on to me from Mum and Dad - to consistently provide a personal service and produce of the highest quality.
I hope you will all enjoy my work - even if you never sample it for yourself, I hope you get some real pleasure from following us and our journey.
